UK Adult Dependent Relative Visa

This is one of the most difficult visa categories to obtain. The Adult Dependent Relative Visa allows elderly or disabled family members to join relatives in the UK, but the Home Office applies an extremely high threshold.

Who Can Apply

Parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, sons, or daughters over 18 who require long-term personal care due to illness, disability, or age, and who cannot obtain the required level of care in their home country.

The Critical Test

You must prove ALL of the following:

  • The applicant requires long-term personal care to perform everyday tasks

  • The care they need is not available in their home country

  • Even if care is available, it must be unaffordable for them

  • The UK-based sponsor can adequately maintain and accommodate the applicant

The Home Office routinely refuses these applications on the basis that some form of care exists in the home country. Expert legal representation is essential.

Our Approach

We only take on Adult Dependent Relative cases where we assess there is a realistic prospect of success. Our approach includes obtaining comprehensive medical reports, expert country condition evidence, and detailed care needs assessments.

Contact us for an honest assessment of your case before investing time and money in an application that may not succeed.
