Requirements

  • A Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from a licensed student sponsor

  • Proof of financial means: tuition fees plus living costs (£1,334/month in London, £1,023 outside London for 9 months)

  • English language proficiency at the required level for your course (usually IELTS)

  • Valid passport with at least 6 months remaining

  • Tuberculosis test results if applying from certain countries

  • ATAS certificate for certain sensitive subjects

Work Rights While Studying

Full-time students at degree level can work up to 20 hours per week during term time and full-time during vacations. Students below degree level are limited to 10 hours per week. You cannot be self-employed or work as a professional sportsperson.

After Your Course

  • Graduate Visa: Stay for 2 years (3 years for PhD) to work in any role

  • Skilled Worker Visa: Switch if you find a qualifying job with a licensed sponsor

  • Further study: Apply for a new Student Visa for a higher-level course
