UK Health and Care Worker Visa: Dedicated Route for Medical Professionals
The Health and Care Worker Visa is a specialised route offering significant benefits to qualified doctors, nurses, health professionals, and adult social care workers coming to work in the UK's health sector.
This visa was introduced to recognise the vital contribution of overseas health workers to the UK's National Health Service and care sector. It offers reduced fees, faster processing, and exemption from the Immigration Health Surcharge.
Key Benefits Over Standard Skilled Worker Visa
Significantly reduced visa application fees (saving hundreds of pounds)
Complete exemption from the Immigration Health Surcharge (saving thousands over the visa period)
Dedicated faster processing available
Lower salary thresholds than the standard Skilled Worker Visa
Your dependants are also exempt from the Immigration Health Surcharge
A nurse applying on the Health and Care Worker Visa could save over £5,000 compared to the standard Skilled Worker Visa route over 5 years.
